Watch for Falling Cows - Red River, New Mexico

Watch for Falling Cows
This sign can be spotted in Red River, New Mexico at the North end of town.   The public safety folks of Red River decided to post a sign on the road below to caution motorists to watch out for falling rocks and falling cows.  Apparently it has really happened, with the occasional grazing bovine misjudging the cliff edge high above the mountain road that leads to this charming little town.  Red River offers terrific skiing and winter sports as well as a cool place to escape the summer heat and enjoy the mountains.  But no matter when you visit Red River, New Mexico,  be careful on the drive and watch out for falling rocks or cattle.
